Eric Hunt
Eric Hunt
has always lived in Hampshire and is largely self taught, having had
an interest in art all his life. A higher education course in
Design and Technology developed his appreciation of natural lines,
design, knowledge of techniques and materials and practical
application of design. His engineering background provides useful
practical skills for working out his ideas in sculpture.
His main areas of interest have been water colour painting and
sculpture and he has done a number of courses in both and given
private tuition in water colour painting. He sculpts in many media,
including wood, stone, plaster and ciment fondu, mainly in abstract
forms. His inspiration comes from a range of influences including
natural and geometric forms and sculptors such as Barbara Hepworth
and Brancusi.
He has
completed and installed his first commission, called “Waves of
Light”. He is a member of Whiteley Art Society as
well as Wessex Sculptors. |
